Welcome

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our school website and introduce myself as the Headteacher. The vision of The James Oglethorpe Primary School is 'Helping Everyone Grow and Flourish' and this website will give you an insight into how we aim to achieve that at our school.

Everything we do at The James Oglethorpe Primary School is underpinned by our three core values: Identity, Integrity and Aspiration. As the Headteacher, I look to ensure that all decisions made at our school are done so with these in mind and that all members of the school community embody these values at all times. 

The James Oglethorpe Primary School is a wonderful school to attend as a child. We acknowledge that every child is unique and special and we take a holistic approach to meeting children's needs and helping them achieve the best possible outcomes. We want all children to be ready for the next steps of their education and support them in developing key life skills as well as academic knowledge. At James Oglethorpe we are passionate about the arts and want to develop children's confidence in performing to an audience. We are also dedicated to encouraging children's love of sport and healthy living, providing a range of clubs which develop their team work, social and communication skills.

Most of all we want children to love school and become lifelong learners. As the Headteacher, I see myself as a learner and I am lucky enough to be able to learn each day from our wonderful children, dedicated staff and supportive parents.
